Founded in 2024, “The AI Economy” surfaces stories about how artificial intelligence influences business, technology, work, and society. Each issue examines the technology’s progress, whether from the perspective of a research report, whitepaper, startup, or an interview with an industry expert. The objective is to help us better learn how AI is changing our world.
Ken Yeung—me—is your guide on this journey. I’m the founder and writer of “The AI Economy’s” and a veteran tech journalist with bylines in The Next Web, VentureBeat, and GeekWire. My reporting spans multiple interests, from consumer tech and social media to startups, the enterprise/B2B/SaaS, hardware, developer tools, fintech, adtech, and more. I’m also an expert in curation, having served as assistant managing editor at the tech startup Flipboard, where I guided its news coverage across the technology, science, gaming, and health verticals.
I also co-founded two tech-specific podcasts: “The Created Economy” and “Tech Briefs with Digital Trends and Flipboard.”

What Stories Am I Interested In?
“The AI Economy” is about the people building AI and the reasons behind what they build. I love sitting down with founders, engineers, and executives to understand what problem they’re solving, how they’re doing it differently, and what it means for the rest of us. Although most of my reporting here leans towards the enterprise—that’s where the technology meets real work—I’m eager to hear from builders using AI in other impactful and creative ways. Regardless, the throughline is always the same: not what’s being announced, but why it exists and why we should care.
It’s less about what you’re launching and more about why.
